Rural Health
A champion is a single person or small working group focused on a specific topic area. They serve as subject matter experts for the board and may join other committees to provide a specific perspective or expertise. For example, the Sports Medicine champion collaborated with the School Health Committee on the passage of the revised sports physical legislation and now, the implementation of those new provider guidelines/practice. Champions may stand alone or grow into a full committee. Champions may also serve on national AAP Committees, Sections or Councils as representatives of the chapter. If you are interested in becoming a Champion, please contact chapter leadership to learn more.
